Windows 8.1 Free Upgrade
The Windows 8.1 upgrade is available today for all Windows 8 and Windows 8 RT users. Simply go to your Windows Store app and there will be an icon to download it from the store.

Windows Phone and Windows store to be combined
It looks like Microsoft will combine the Windows Phone and Windows 8 app stores in the next version of Windows. I think Microsoft should have done this a long time ago. This will definitely help developers want to develop for Windows/Windows Phone. Read more here.

Surface 2 up for pre-order
Microsoft just announced the Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro. Some of the updates include better screen resolution, higher performance, and a smaller size. One of the other things that is inticing with the new Surface is the offer to have 200GB of Skydrive storage for 2 years and 1 year of unlimited minutes on Skype for 1 year. Surface 2 arrives October 22nd. Surface 2 starts at $449 and Surface 2 Pro starts at $899. Check out their site for more details and to preorder.
Issue with Windows Store apps trying to update after being deleted
It looks like there is a known issue with the Windows 8 app store where uninstalled apps are trying to update themselves even though they have been uninstalled. This is a known issue and Microsoft is working on a fix. Click here to see more info.

iOS 7 Software Update Failing
Users trying to update to iOS 7 shortly after it's release are being met with a nasty little error message. This looks like a widespread update so I am sure Apple will be coming out with a fix soon to allow users to download and install the update.
