Workaround for older software (like HotSync) with Office 2010

I recently won a free copy of Office 2010 but was disappointed to find out that I could no longer HotSync my Palm Centro with Outlook. Yes, I know I have an old phone and most of you may not know what HotSyncing your phone even is anymore. Anyway, I stumbled upon a help article that helped me so that I could sync my phone with Outlook again. Yeah! I was thinking that some other people may have this problem as well. The help forum I found described that you download a Hex Editor (here is a free one that works well) and then change the version number from a 14 to a 12 (Basically tricking Hotsync into thinking it is Outlook 2007 instead of Outlook 2010). Here is the forum post as well.
