Windows 8 RTM released to Technet and Dreamspark

It looks like Windows 8 RTM(release to manufacturing) is out for Microsoft Technet subscribers and also will be coming to Dreamspark users. It doesn't look like it is up yet for Dreamspark, but should be out soon. Here is a Microsoft blog post that tells us more information on the release dates. Click here.

Update-- it will be available to student members of Dreamspark on August 25th but no later then the end of August. According to this comment made from an admin on the blog listed above:

Institution Admins can now get access to Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 from the DreamSpark Admin/MSDN subscriber portal.
This will allow them to start planning and preparing to install Windows 8 and Visual Studio on institutional labs over the summer vacation period in preparation for the next academic year.
In terms of general availability to students via dreamspark.com and ELMS DreamSpark Premium. This will be made available around 25th of August and no later than end of month.
Students who are NOT presently at a institution or simply on summer vacation can download and install a 90 day evaluation version from http://dev.windows.com

Windows 8 RTM out today

Today the Release to Manufacturing version of Windows 8 was released. This is the last major mile stone before the general public release is available. Here are some dates to be aware of along with a link to the official blog post regarding the release. 

• August 15th: Developers will be able to download the final version of Windows 8 via your MSDN subscriptions.
• August 15th: IT professionals testing Windows 8 in organizations will be able to access the final version of Windows 8 through your TechNet subscriptions.
• August 16th: Customers with existing Microsoft Software Assurance for Windows will be able to download Windows 8 Enterprise edition through the Volume License Service Center (VLSC), allowing you to test, pilot and begin adopting Windows 8 Enterprise within your organization.
• August 16th: Microsoft Partner Network members will have access to Windows 8.
• August 20th: Microsoft Action Pack Providers (MAPS) receive access to Windows 8.
• September 1st: Volume License customers without Software Assurance will be able to purchase Windows 8 through Microsoft Volume License Resellers.
