EVERNOTE (Keep all of your notes/ideas together)

Thought this looked interesting. It looks like it works on multiple platforms and the cool thing is that you can sync all of your notes from all of your devices into one account. Check it out here.

Free Automatic Disk Defrag Utility

I have been using IObit’s Smart Defrag utility for over a year now. Truthfully I miss the old Windows XP disk defrag utility where it would show you progress on what was going on. This freeware not only tells you the progress but you can set it up to Auto-defrag whenever your PC is idle. I know a lot of people don’t defrag because they aren’t sure how to get to it and when to run it. I would recommend everyone who wants to keep their PC running smoothly and quickly to download this tool, take a minute to set it up and then let it do the work for you. This tool is also recommended by PC Magazine and Cnet.com

Great work at home job for students

So I attended the career fair the other day at the U and talked with Apple to see if they had any internships for over the summer. They told me they had something better. They are offering a job for students to support Apple products and work from home. You must be currently enrolled, have at least a 2.7 GPA and be able to work full time in the summer and then 16 hours a week in the fall and spring. They offer benefits such as medical and 401k and you get to work when you want. Sounds pretty sweet. If I can’t get an internship set up I think I will pursue this. Thought I would pass it along in case anyone was interested. Here is the link:

Windows Live Essentials 2011

The new version of Windows Live Essentials is out. I just downloaded it and find that it has a lot of new updates and features from previous versions. They have introduced the Office “ribbon” interface on all of the programs. (kind of like tabs in Firefox or Internet Explorer)

I mostly only use the Photo Gallery and Live Writer. Both of them have had a facelift with and have added some new functionality. Here a couple of screenshots of the Photo Gallery:
